Does the ATEM training program adhere to the most recent ECC and AHA guidelines?
Yes. Both CPR and First Aid training programs adhere to and conform to national standards based on the most recent 2025 scientific guidelines and treatment recommendations used by AHA, ILCOR, and ECC guidelines.
Has Basic Life Support been updated for the 2025 guidelines?
No. ATEM no longer carries a Basic Life Support (BLS) program within the curriculum.
Do you offer the course in Spanish?
Yes.
Can I purchase only the video?
No. Initial setup requires an instructor packet that includes the required instructor manual. Proof of current instructor certification status must also be submitted.
What does the instructor package include?
Instructor Package includes: DVD (English only), CPR/First Aid/AED/BBP/Emergency Oxygen content, instructor manual, instructor certification, 10 student books, 20 Adult/Child/Infant CPR-AED-First Aid certification cards (BBP not included), plus quizzes/evaluation/roster/skill sheets.
Also available: Bloodborne Pathogen certification cards can be purchased for $25.00 per sheet of 10 cards when purchased with an instructor package.
Can the First Aid portion be tailored to accommodate different industries?
Training must be comprehensive enough to cover the facility's needs until EMS arrives. At minimum, facilities should be trained for immediate life-threatening injuries including artery wounds and treatment for shock in addition to CPR.
What is the difference between Essential First Aid and Standard First Aid?
Essential First Aid is geared for urban areas where EMS arrives quickly and focuses on immediate life-threatening situations. Standard First Aid is broader and covers more major illnesses and injuries.
Can I show the entire video without pausing between segments?
No. Studies show average attention span is under 10 minutes. Pausing between segments improves learner comprehension.
Can I make copies of the DVD?
Yes, but only for your training center. After the initial instructor package purchase, each additional DVD is $20.00. Jump drives are also available and retain copy quality.
Does ATEM have a blended training option?
Yes. Blended training (online cognitive learning + instructor-led skill exams) is available. If you want your name/logo on the blended training link, there is a one-time $55 setup fee per entity. Bloodborne Pathogen is the only program that can be 100% online; other programs require instructor skill testing.
If using the ATEM blended training link, students must bring a copy of their test results to class.
